Does anyone know how to get really cheap international flights?!?

I really want to fly from somewhere near New York to Cairo, Egypt. It's like, number 3 or something on my bucket list. i'm working this summer and want to put away money for airfares and whatnot, but i don't think a little summer job at an ice cream shop is going to give me a wonderful trip to Egypt. So does anyone know any tips or anything that can get me some deals on flights like contests...something? Please help and be as specific as possible, it's really important to me. :-)Does anyone know how to get really cheap international flights?!?
Try 'name your own price' on Priceline.com, you might get really cheap tickets. The catch is you can only put in the departure and destination cities and the dates and bid on a ticket. If you bidding price is accepted, you'd be charged right away before you can find out the detailed itinerary which most probably would be horrible. You could be leaving on a 6 am flight then wait for 10 hours for another red eye flight or making 1 or 2 more stops until you arrive.
No, there aren't any "tricks". It will be expensive and there isn't much that you can do about it.Does anyone know how to get really cheap international flights?!?
