My 1995 Pontiac Grand Am did the same thing - I was told by a couple mechanics I would have to replace the whole thing at quite a price.

Is the new movie, Valkyrie, starring Tom Cruise, only in english?
Wait, so the new movie, Valkyrie, starring Tom Cruise, that is based on the assassination attempt on Hitler, is in English. Shouldn't it technically be in German and shouldn't Tom Cruise be speaking German???Is the new movie, Valkyrie, starring Tom Cruise, only in english?
I do believe it is only English - even though filmed in Germany.
http://www.squidoo.com/valkyrie
Ehrm... what about all the other movies the big studios from the US made about Germany and that period of time? What about Schindler's list? Shouldn't they all have been speaking German, too? Have you ever researched any of those movies and realized how many of them are actually remakes of films from European studios, the story adapted to better fit what the US is used to thinking about Europe? Ever heard of the movie "Der Untergang", which is one of the few movies that where not re-shot for the US market, but instead translated? Any idea what a discussion went on about "German film-makers making such a movie"? Any idea what a bashing those poor film-makers got, especially from their international colleagues?
What a question to ask, honestly. Why not browse the "international movie" section of your local video-renting place for a little before asking something like this!Is the new movie, Valkyrie, starring Tom Cruise, only in english?
Technically, But, i'm pretty sure that Tom Cruise doesn't speak German.
idk but it looks cool

Can I get a job on a cruise ship for one cruise only?
I was wondering about an antarctica cruise. they cost around 8k. i figure if i get a job and could just go out to the continent for a few hours it would be worth working the whole cruise instead of paying 8k.Can I get a job on a cruise ship for one cruise only?
The only way you can work on a single cruise is as an active member of the Naval Reserve, and then, you would need to be a Watchkeeping Officer, a Doctor or a nurse. Even then you don't get to pick which cruise you go on, the cruise line decides that for you.
You'd better start saving the 8k.
Sorry to have t tell you this. Staff are employeed for 6-10 months at a time. Instead of paying 8K, go to http://www.vacationstogo.com/emailtick.c鈥?/a> and pick up a last minute cruise for sooooooo cheap! Can I get a job on a cruise ship for one cruise only?
Your only chance is go as an onboard historian/lecturer. But you need to have a strong background in that area, and be knowledgeable about the history, culture, people, etc.. about the places you are visiting. Normally you have to be a college professor, either active or retired to get this type of position.
Cruise lines will not hire normal crew for just one cruise. There is way too much training, and too many costs involved to have people work just for one cruise and than leave.
So save your pennies and go when you can afford it.
Or if you are serious about being a crew member, be a crew member for a full contract. The crew works long and hard and are away from home for a long time. And for someone like to you say you want to work just for one cruise in order to get a discount is pretty sad, and a mockery of ship crews.

I'm looking for a good longboard made for cruising, Only answer if you actually know what your talking about.?
I want a good board for cruising for long distances, But still has good maneuverability.I'm looking for a good longboard made for cruising, Only answer if you actually know what your talking about.?
I'll give my longboard recommendation briefing in a bit with my personal opinion. But first CRUISING!
You can usually Cruise on any board but to make it so the Board is ment for cruising you usually want special wheels and bearings. Then worry about the board itself. I've found that Wider Boards with the Cut Out on the sides for the wheels are best for cruising because you can carve better to build up momentum and cruising wheels are larger and the cut out prevents wheel bite. But I personally like Wider Boards without the cut out. I just put on a few risers than i'm good to go =)
So i'm not sure what you know about what the numbers mean when getting wheels. for the longest time i had no idea. If you do Disregard this paragraph. Abec11 Flywheels 97mm 78a are what i use for cruising. they are expensive, big and over kill (not recommended). 51mm 100a are average for a Skateboard. 65mm 78a is average for a long board. the first number is a Diamater of the wheel. example the 65mm 78a is 65mm in diamater. that's the obvious one. the 2nd number is the density of the wheel (how hard and soft) the higher the number the harder the wheel.
FOR CRUISING!
鈽糋et Larger,Softer Wheels (Recommend Abec 11 Gumballs Due to the fact they will keep you going and go over small rocks and what ever else with ease)
鈽糀 DecK you Feel comfortable with. something you can ride long distances on and feel good (I prefer wider decks because they tend to do better when cruising if you don't plan on carving alot and you just want to go)
鈽糡ighten your Trucks (not too tight but enough to where you need to put more effort to carve to keep you stable and going pretty far)
Hope that Helps I will Copy and paste one of my older posts involving Longboards I hope I've helped in someway.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION-----------------------------鈥?br>
Alright. So We (Long-boarding crew) Have taught several people how to longboard who have never even stood on a board.
ARBOR BOARDS
the best board i've personally found that works best for amatures / beginners are arbor boards. they are Very Durable decently priced not too bad at all, and brand name boards so it won't seem like you just bought any sort of board. They are usually Bamboo so they can go through a lot, and still come out alright. also they are ideal if you don't want to have to buy another one later one because they are also used professionally for sliding. carving and everything else. if you want to learn how to slide you'll want gloves (notnecessarilyy sliding gloves at first) cheap 7$ leather gloves work to start with. Knee Pads are a MUST. that is how you recover with out getting torn up. But again usually for a full cheap Arbor set-up board it's around 150$ but it'll last and i feel it's worth it. I've Wrecked my Arbor countless times and the board won every fight against a wall, pillar, car, pretty much anything i've put it against. Also for you they are quite Stable which makes them GREAT for Cruising and carving. I love riding mine to places.
SECTOR 9
Also Sector 9 is nice if you've been skating or have some board experience. but i've seemed to be able to wreck those the most. Sector 9 Boards are great because of the selection and their quality actually isn't bad either. I have my nosewalker '55 and i love it too. Also alot of sector9 boards are some of the best at carving.
OTHER INFO
Those are just the two most common Brands of Boards that i have the most experience with.
I have experience with alot of other once aswel Loaded Longboards are really nice. Top Quality and one of the best brands I've delt with but they have the price to go with them. The Best Board i've personally ridden was the Loaded Dervish. But I know alot of people who don't like Loaded Boards because of the Cut-Away for the Wheels. But it's all opinions and personal preferences. If you want a really Unique, good, great looking, and great all around board look into Dreg Boards. That's next on my list to get, .
WHERE
For the Arbor Boards on their Website you can click on the board you want and it will give you a place to enter your Zip Code to help you find a dealer also it'll give you a list of websites to go to. Arbor makes the boards. I found it weird that you don't purchase the Boards Directly from them but that's how they work. I'll also link a decent site that sales sector9 boards that are better for carving.
I will link a ton of sites to help you out. I hope i was of some use =)
it's really all depends on what you're into. personally I recommend the Arbor and a Loaded for more experienced boarders.I'm looking for a good longboard made for cruising, Only answer if you actually know what your talking about.?

How come Mary only performs miracles for Catholics and Jesus only performs miracles for Protestants?
And Allah only performs miracles for Muslims and Vishnu only performs miracles for Hindus and Tom Cruise only performs miracles for Scientologists and Mitt Romney only performs miracles for Mormons? Can you see a pattern emerging here? How come Mary only performs miracles for Catholics and Jesus only performs miracles for Protestants?
Because all religion is laughable pigshit.
No. I don't see a pattern emerging here. You have stated your scenario as though each of these events have occured, while it is evident that you believe that none of them have occured. It is an intentionally misleading queston seeking no interest in basic truths. How come Mary only performs miracles for Catholics and Jesus only performs miracles for Protestants?
God is oblivious. On purpose. He's above all this small stuff. We're a project He did eons ago and the newness has worn off. This is all now on automatic pilot. There's magic inside, and around. Anyone can tap it, in the name of anyone or anything. However, if you tap it in a popular name like God or Jesus, you've got all those believers reinforcing your will. That's how spiritual magic works.
I perform miracles for myself, maybe you should do the same for yourself...
If you do, I bet that in the not to distant future you'll find all the others performing miracles for you too..
Wrong again. Mary doesn't perform any miracles, she's dead and Allah doesn't exist at all. I guess you haven't done your homework.
There is no such pattern

Why does my wipers and cruise only work sometimes?
I have a 70's lincoln and I want to know if I may face an electrical problem soon because my wipers and cruise only work sometime but not everytime. Why does my wipers and cruise only work sometimes?
you may just have two different problems that seem to be one. your cruises go out quite often in many vehicles. and the wiper motors work sometimes off and on before they quit all together.
Yes.Why does my wipers and cruise only work sometimes?
It could be an electrical problem or the motor dosent work in thouse modes anymore and will have to get replaced
it sounds like the switch is bad take it to your local mechanic to have it checked

What are your favorite cruises only 1 please?
the Disney Cruise Line is AWSOME!What are your favorite cruises only 1 please?
Ok, I would only give you one favorite, but it really depends on the class you are looking for.
Small Budget: Royal Caribbean
Mid-budget: Disney
Bigger Budget: Crystal
For me, it would be a toss-up between Disney and Crystal. I like almost all the cruise lines. But if I only choose one, it is Disney!
i would say disney cruiseWhat are your favorite cruises only 1 please?
Disney!
Carnival Cruise lines...the only one I've ever been on.
My wife and I took the Carnival Cruise out of New Orleans before the "storm". Went to Jamaicha, Cozumel, Caymen. Avoid Caymen, but the rest was awesome!!!!

I booked a carnival cruise from carnival, but found it cheaper on cruises only.com.. Will they refund me?
the difference? Very curious. Thank you!I booked a carnival cruise from carnival, but found it cheaper on cruises only.com.. Will they refund me?
The only way to know is to call Carnival (or whoever you booked it with). Tell them it is cheaper at the other site and ask if they will match the fare and issue a refund. I'm assuming you have already paid.
Do it now while the cheaper fare is still showing. Don't wait to get a bunch of answers here. By then, the cheaper fare may be gone and you can't prove it existed. It is like saying you want to buy stock at last week's price .. doesn't work that way.
You will always pay more at Carnval.com or calling them.
If you have not paid in full you can transfer the booking and save the $$.
Good luck!I booked a carnival cruise from carnival, but found it cheaper on cruises only.com.. Will they refund me?
If you booked and put a deposit down, and it's not past the point where you have to pay the balance in full, you should be able to cancel the booking with no penalty. Call Carnival and find out for sure. But, do it now before that other lower price goes away.
As long as you haven't made your final payment, you can transfer the booking to an agency and keep the same cabin, booking number, etc.
However, CruiseOne tends to be a higher-priced agency, so I'd recommend you shop around before deciding. Start by requesting a quote at http://www.CruiseCompete.com. Just select the sailing you want, and in the comments say that a) you want to transfer an existing booking; and b) note the price you're trying to beat. Competing agencies can them see your request, and have a chance to give you an even better offer. If you get a better deal, it's easy to research the agency on the site and (if you're satisfied) transfer the booking. If not, go ahead and transfer to CruiseOnly.
It only takes a few minutes, and you may save quite a lot.
Good luck!
I think the policy was in less then 48 hours. Here's the link to the answer on Carnival.com http://www.carnival.com/CMS/FAQs/cancellation_policy.aspx Hope it goes well!

Alaska cruises...only old people?
I am going on a Princess cruise to Alaska next year and I heard that only old people go on those cruises...is this true?
I really hope there's other teenagers there...
Thank you!Alaska cruises...only old people?
Although there's no guarantee that there will be other teenagers on your cruise, the likelihood is high that there will be! It may have been true 15-20 years ago, today, it's not just old people who cruise to Alaska. There are young families, multigenerational families, couples, people of all ages on Alaskan cruises, including teenagers.
Don't worry about it. The point is to see the sights along the way, and enjoy the ports you visit plus taking some tours to see more of the area. Onboard activities are only there to keep you occupied until the next port. The cruise is also a great time for family togetherness. ... and meals and snacks occupy some of your time.
FYI: Holland America Lines does have a reputation as a more sedate, mature line, but that does not stop my whole family ( ages 8 - 88 ) from enjoying the many trips we have (as various groups) taken to various points and sites in Alaska.
It is a great experience!Alaska cruises...only old people?
No.
There are ALWAYS teens on board, even on the cruise lines that are supposedly for "old fogies" and even on cruises longer than seven days. Some of them don't know how to behave, if you can believe it!
The last cruise we were on, the Captain actually threatened to have them put ashore at the next port, they behaved so badly.
No, I can speak from experience when I say that there is a wide variety of people of all different ages on cruises to Alaska. On my last cruise the ages varied from infants through younger children to teenagers covering the entire spectrum from 13 to 19.alpinestars english to hebrew translation

How do you start a home travel agent business specializing in cruise only?
I am now with a host agency as a referral travel agent but looking into also being a home -based agent with a specialization in just booking cruisesHow do you start a home travel agent business specializing in cruise only?
In the US you need to first either attend travel school or work for a period of time for an authorized travel agency. In the travel business there is an agency (ARC = Airline Resettlement Commission) which controls all of the distribution of travel funds and you must be a member in order to participate. You gain that participation by schooling and work in the business. Then you need to join a travel association, like ASTA or CLIA, which show you are a professional travel person.
You should look into attending a travel school like maybe Carlson Travel. There are several others that are nationwide(see web site below). I attended Carlson and they offer full time and part-time classes. Once you finish the school, they will help you with placement, finding a job. You really need to work in the business under an agency for a while to learn how things are done. Once you finish schooling and or your apprenticeship, you are assigned a CLIA or ASTA number. That number is your ticket to getting paid.

Why are there cruises to Hawaii only in Apr. and Sept.?
I want to go on a cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii. But after looking on both the Royal Caribbean and Carnival websites, I find they only happen in April and Sept. I can't go because I want to bring my children, and they will be in school then. I was just curious if anyone knows the reasoning behind offering Hawaii cruises only in Apr. and Sept?
Thanks for your answers! Why are there cruises to Hawaii only in Apr. and Sept.?
Because Alaska is too cold in April and September; but is a guaranteed sellout over the summer months.
I would also guess that that is the calmest time for ocean travel (or not; idk). You are out on the high seas for 5 days (each way). Your kids might get bored, even with a swimming pool on board and other activities. I suggest you fly, and get there and spend the quality time with your kids in Hawaii. That way you can fit the vacation into the one week they are out of school (if BC schedules are similar to US).
I don't think you can really do Hawaii justice just by getting on and off a ship at various ports. Hawaii is for relaxing, and enjoying the warm breezes and playing and snorkeling in the water, and enjoying superb pineapple. {Been to Maui 3 times and loved it. Also, the Pearl Harbor memorial (another island) is very moving.}
Try Princess cruise line as they have cruises going round trip from California between Sept 2011 and March 2012: http://www.princess.com/find/itineraryDe鈥?/a> There are also some cruises to Hawaii from California in April.
The reason that cruises do not go to Hawaii from the west coast during the summer months is simple. The Alaska cruise season is mid-May through mid-Sept and all of the cruise lines move their ships to do Alaska cruises during the period May through September.
OR, you can fly to Hawaii and go on the Norwegian cruise line ship that does cruises around the island all year long. Why are there cruises to Hawaii only in Apr. and Sept.?
Princess does Hawaiian cruises from either San Francisco or Los Angeles during both Thanksgiving holiday and Christmas Holiday. Now they do not have cruise out of Vancouver that time of the year becasue it is too cold. But you could fly down to California and do a Princess cruise. BTW it is a 14 day cruise and is one of my favorite cruises of all time. Great for all family members.
NCL has a ship (Pride of America) that sails the Hawai'ian Isalnds year-round. They are typically 7-day cruises. Trouble is you have to fly to Hawai'i to board the ship. If that doesn't suit, I'm afraid you'll have to do the April or September cruise.
I really don't know why they happen only in April or September. My best guess is that they could be repositioning cruises to Hawai'i for the spring and fall months.
It varies with cruise line. But mostly cruise ships transition from Alaska in the summer to the Caribbean or other warm spots in the winter, and vice versa for the next season.
The ships typically take a "detour" of sorts for a few weeks to sail to Hawaii as they make their way from Alaska to the southern winter waters. And do it again in Apr as they return back to Alaska.

NCL have a ship that is based in Hawaii. Fly out and enjoy yourself!
Guaranteed the cruise lines know exactly when they can fill their ships and make the most money. If they could sell enough tickets they would have cruises every month.

Has anyone used "Cruises Only" to purchuse a cruise?
I am wondering if anyone has used "Cruises Only" to purchase a cruise either online or over the phone. They seem to have really good deals and wondering if it is a good way to go.Has anyone used "Cruises Only" to purchuse a cruise?
i have never used CRUISES ONLY, but i can say i use www.vacationstogo.com and if you have never cruised before, go their website and read all the detailed information on all aspects of cruising. if you sign on to their newsletter you will also be sent some fantastic deals to look at from local to all over the world. if you are not sure about anything, they have tremendous call center also,
I am going to give you a somewhat biased answer :)
If you have never cruised or are going to a different destination then call an independent qualified cruise specialist as they can answer your questions about ALL the different options and give you personalized service and recommendations with no extra cost. They can get you the same if not better prices than 'the big guys' or with the cruise lines directly. It will cost you nothing extra and they will handle all the details.
You will see tons of people on here asking all sorts of questions and often times getting the wrong answers. If you call an independent they can be the one person to call and help you with all the details.
If you have cruised lots of times before then booking with a big on-line agency with little personalized service would be OK - in my past life after 15 cruises I did just that. But it cost you the same whether you get the personalized service or just an on-line experience..
Whatever method you choose have fun on your cruise !
DaveHas anyone used "Cruises Only" to purchuse a cruise?
Cruises Only has a reputation as a retail agency--in other words, you'll pay full price if you book through them.
I'd suggest you shop around. A good place to start is http://www.cruisecompete.com where you can select a cruise then have agents compete to offer you the best deal. (It's anonymous).
Good luck!
I think Cruises Inc is the best place to book a cruise at a very good rate. They are affiliated with all the major cruise lines and sell their left over empy cabins and packages at a discount. Call them to get all the details.

Are tiger cruises only for those serving on carriers?
I've been hearing a lot about tiger cruises but from my research I've only seen them offered for people who are at the time on a carrier. So my question is, are they carrier only or can other surface ships have them too?Are tiger cruises only for those serving on carriers?
No... as someone mentioned, they ARE done on small-boys (Frigates, Destroyers, and Cruisers) also. In my 26 years in Uncle Sam's Canoe Club, I was aboard for 9 on a carrier, and 14 on small boys.
MrsJVB is incorrect regarding "same gender guests only"... in 1997 I had my daughter along (one of my female shipmates accepted responsibility for being her "berthing buddy") while returning with USS Kitty Hawk from Hawaii to San Diego following our WestPac.
I also had my youngest daughter along for a Tiger Cruise in 2000 aboard USS Stennis.
all surface ships offer them when the CO okays it. that being said.. the same restrictions apply.. no spouses or GFs allowed, minimum age is 9. . same gender guests only.
ETAL: I said MINIMUM age is 9.. and spouses/GF are only alowed on Family day cruises..which are different than Tiger cruises( they are not overnight)
Bookworm: yes but YOU were not your daughter(s) sponsor..,a female had to be. that's what I meantAre tiger cruises only for those serving on carriers?
Nope, small boys do them as well. It's just normally harder to get people to a small boy, so you don't see it.
I did one on the way back from my first deployment. We picked the PAX up in Mayport, FL, and then sailed 2 days back up to Norfolk, VA for homecoming. This was on a DDG.
My son is on the USS George H. W. Bush CVN 77, and he has already signed my nephew and myself on a tiger cruse, and I'm really looking forward to it. There must be an age limit, because my son asked me how old is his cousin and after I told him 12, he said "ok, he's old enough".
I've served on a carrier but have no idea what a "tiger" cruise is.
@ "hello", my son is also serving on the USS George H. W. Bush CVN 77

Is making 110-133K a year...?
right out of college alot? Like, enough to live in the Palms Las Vegas and wear designer clothes? Is making 110-133K a year...?
Definitely*
Yes, of course it's a lot it's a six figure salary.Is making 110-133K a year...?
hun, it doesn't matter. i know you're not making that much.
that is a pretty decent living... good luck finding it.
It's a lot, considering that the average American has a 39,000 dollar salary--and that's not right out of college either.
What do you do?
It's enough to buy a decent house, furnish it, pay the mortgage and the bills, buy an average car or two and have a nice vacation once in a while, but not enough to do the Vegas thing. You would get sick of Vegas pretty quick anyway.
Yeah I think that's a good amount of money!

Is it really true?
is it true that rex grossman was pictured with three playboy bunnies in the palms, las vegas because he is married and i think that is so wrong.why would a playboy bunny pose with him anyway he is uglyIs it really true?
It's true, and yes he is ugly but they make there money by kissing alot of ***, and a lot of ugly asses. I'm sure he doesn't have a chance.
Yeah its true.Is it really true?
It is true and why not him? He sure looks better than Hugh (the fossil) Hefner.
What's wrong with posing for a picture with 3 beautiful women? I'd proudly disply a pic of my hubby with 3 playboy bunnies! Not the answer you were looking for but honest.

How many floors is the Bellagio in Vegas?
I'm having a hard time finding this information online... Do you happen to know how many floors the following have as well:
Caesars Palace
Venetian
The Palms Las Vegas - Playboy Club
New York-New York Hotel %26amp; Casino
Treasure Island Hotel %26amp; Casino
THANKS!How many floors is the Bellagio in Vegas?
Bellagio - 36
Caesars Palace - 29
The Venetian - 40 (The Palazzo is 53, tallest building in Vegas besides The Stratosphere @ 642ft)
The Palms - 40 (Palms Place is 50)
NY,NY - 49
Treasure Island - 36
The number of floors is not necessarily proportional to it's height. Examples are The Bellagio (36 stories @ 508ft) and NY,NY (49 stories @ 529ft). The building with the most floors is The Trump Internation with 64 stories.
Emporis has a database about buildings. You can get heights, floors, etc.How many floors is the Bellagio in Vegas?
What a difference question. Call each hotel directly, they all have 800 numbers.
Why, are you looking for the tallest one to jump off?

Mariah Cary @ the Pearl In the Palms...Las Vegas?
Mariah Carey did a two night concert at the pearl in the palms in Vegas in september. And again Oct. 9-10...I got tickets for the tenth and im really excited. But I was wondering what me and my girlfriend should wear? Its a small theatre and it will be a very intimate concert. From the vids and pics i scene of Septembers, she was wearing gorgeous dresses, very chill. Nothing upbeat at all. So I was planning on wearing a really simple but elegant dress, but then again I dont want to be over dressed? Did anyone attend the september show or have any insight?Mariah Cary @ the Pearl In the Palms...Las Vegas?
I went to the concert on 9/12... Wear whatever you want ;) If your on the bottom floor like me don't wear heels. I was on my feet the while concert... I wish I could go again. Have fun!!!!
It's Las Vegas... people wear anything they want from classy to trashy so whatever you feel comfortable in is what's best.Mariah Cary @ the Pearl In the Palms...Las Vegas?
People dress in all ways. Business casual is the easiest but no one cares if you put on the dog

Access to the Pool: Palms, Las Vegas?
We're going to Vegas in May (not Memorial Day). 6 of us are staying at the Palms and 6 are staying at other properties. For those staying at Palms, it is only 2 ppl to a room. The Palms is saying others cannot get into their pool. So, does anyone know how easy it would be to get the other guests in? We could even lie and say they are each staying in the rooms with the other people and get room keys -- would they know?!?! Any other suggestions? It is dumb that they won't allow others in their pool when we wanted everyone to stay there, but they jumped their prices up almost $100/night since we booked. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!Access to the Pool: Palms, Las Vegas?
It sounds unfair but only guests of the hotel are allowed in the pool area. However there is always a way around it since all you have to do is show a room key to get in.
Here is what you do, the first 6 guests staying there should get in with the 3 room keys you have. Then 3 of you will go out and get another 3 of your guests in and repeat the process one more time and all 12 of you will be in the pool area partying like rock stars.
http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/palm-pool鈥?/a>
You can only get two keys if two people stay in a room. Lose it and they give you new rekeyed keys, not more.
Part of what you pay for is access to the pool, not for visitors. However, if one of you walks in with the key with one other person, you may not be "checked." So if you really want to be together, pay the price for the other rooms.Access to the Pool: Palms, Las Vegas?
When you check in you would normally get two keys per room. If not just ask so each of you have a key. That is 6 keys. When you go to the pool each one of you will take one of the others. You get two people admitted with each key. It isn't dumb they don't allow non-guests into their pool. It costs money to operate the pool and that cost is incorporated into your room rate. The closer to the date of arrival the higher the prices will get.
Gosh how trashy. What are you, an illegal?

Restaurant help! Mix at THE hotel Mandalay Bay or Alize at the Palms, Las Vegas?
My husband and I will be in Las Vegas over Christmas this year and we are currently on the hunt for the perfect restaurant for dinner on Christmas night. Hubby is a foodie and I go more for atmosphere and wonderful views.
We've sort of narrowed it down to between the Mix restaurant at Mandalay Bay or Alize at the Palms - the amazing views are a big selling point for me but beyond that it's hard to know which is best.
Anyone able to help sway our decision one way or another? Any info or experiences would be great.
Many thanks.Restaurant help! Mix at THE hotel Mandalay Bay or Alize at the Palms, Las Vegas?
Hmm.. it seems like youve just about picked out the best of the best of Las Vegas penthouse restaurants. If I had to pick between the two, Id say to go to Mix. I was there earlier this year for valentines day and it is definently one cool experience.
But honestly,.. since your husband is a foodie and you're already considering Mix which can easily run you close to 200 dollars without alcohol for the two of you... i think you might want to take a look at Daniel Bouluds restaurant at the Wynn. There isnt a skyline view of the strip, but i really feel as though the atmosphere is just better while eating by the lighted waterfall of the Wynn rather than a huge mirror of yourself as you try to see the skyline through the windows at ngiht of either Alize or Mix. Okado also has a nice view of the wynn waterfall and its a lot cheaper. and youll get to try some very different types of japanese food.. that of which isnt raw.
If you love french and american food try the Mix at TheHotel at Mandalay Bay. I love the lobster salad. Hopefully you like seafood and the price isn't extravagent like Alize at the Palms. I have eaten at both restaurants' and loved the Mix.Restaurant help! Mix at THE hotel Mandalay Bay or Alize at the Palms, Las Vegas?
Mix at the Mandalay Bay is awesome - I don't know about Alize
I would choose the Palms. But make the reservations now because it already may be TOO LATE

Any Deals at the Palms Las Vegas?
Desperately trying to find just a little deal at the Palms for a Sunday - Tuesday trip in January. Going to a convention at the Rio...and I HATE the Rio. Boss will sign off on the Palms, but only if it is the same price as the Rio. Only deal I could find was a $50 food credit at Orbitz, but it's $199/night vs. $159/night for the Rio.
I just want to enjoy my 48 hours in Vegas! Thanks for any help you can provide.Any Deals at the Palms Las Vegas?
If your are thinking of the week of the 11th then you are out of luck The other weeks are way cheaper than you found on Orbitz. Just go directly to their website and avoid Orbitz, Travelocity ..etc.

I was looking on The Palms website and saw a deal for a studio at Palms Place for 159 night plus you get a lot of free extras for the casino.

Im going to vegas in October for Halloween and planning on staying in the palms hotel. We are 2 23 yr olds and looking for reviews of the hotel as there is such a mixture online. Also will the pool still be open? Thanks for any help!! xAnyone have info on The Palms, Las Vegas?

Have a great time!!!
Just got back from Las Vegas today, and Palms is way too dissappointing after knowing that it was built in 2001. It looks like something built in the late 70's, the casino looks very cheap and the aisles are small, the place is darker and less attractive than other casinos. Its pool is not great, only one normal pool.
All there is to this casino is the marketing and image created towards young crowd as is shown on the real world, mtv shows, and the girls next door(playboy). Well I am 24 and my friend is 25 neither of us liked it... altough we did see Pink's ex-husband by the pool.
Besides it is not even on the strip, it is located on the other side of the freeway apart from all other main hotels%26amp;casinos (only the rio is next too it... and it also seems cheesy.)
We stayed at the MonteCarlo, it was great the place has nice architecture, a wave pool, a lazy river, and two other small pools, is it right in the center of the strip and it has a great casino floor and spa. Other casinos that are great are the Ceasars Palace, Paris, and Luxor.

I think it depends on the weather %26amp; hotel
I've been out toVegas mid October and the pools were still open. A year later I went for the Comedy Festival right before Thanksgiving and most pools were closed, very few were still open
I think @ 23 the two of you will have a blast @ the Palms! I'm a little older and I still LOVE the place!
Try going to www.vegas.com. Ive stayed at the Palms before. Probably the most comfortable beds EVER! The clubs are really awesome too. The only complaint I had was I kept getting carded while playing the slots. I look really young but after the 12th time it was just annoying. The pool is closed during that time of the year. Hope you have a great time.
Check out Trip advisor for honest reviews by people who have been. It is off the strip but therefore will be cheaper and the pool although possibly open may be to cold for a swim. Doesn't matter where you stay in Vegas you will have a brill time just take plenty of money.
There are some good reviews over at http://bestofvegas.com/hotels/Palms-Las-鈥?/a>
Personally I like the palms, but it is too far off the strip for me. I like Planet Hollywood better.
Doubtful the pools will be open, it gets very cold at night i n the desert in the fall/winter.

How to get into Ghostbar at the Palms, Las Vegas?
me and my Boyfriend want to check this bar out. What tickets are the best for me and him to get in? where can I buy LEGIT and the best DISCOUNT tickets?
thanks! How to get into Ghostbar at the Palms, Las Vegas?
Whenever I go to Vegas I use http://www.cheapvegasclubs.com/index.htm to get me into all the clubs. They are by far the cheapest on the internet... they actually guarantee it. If you use their party planner they can usually get you into clubs that are'nt even on the site. Id check it out. You may as well go to a few clubs instead of just one.
You can purchase the tickets by 3 ways. One is through ebay, second is through dealers out on the strip at night and the 3rd way is through the Palms (most expensive way). Ghost Bar is very nice, great views and a nice place to be without too many drunks. How to get into Ghostbar at the Palms, Las Vegas?
Here is a good article on doing that.

Vegas.com is very legit.
Just like any other club you must know people. If you don't then go to the VIP line (on right hand side against the wall) and have some $$$ in your hand. If it's just the two of you put a $50 in his hand (don't make it so obvious) and if he comps you then your good if not you'll have to pay another $20 to get up. Trust me that line never moves but the VIP one will get you up in 10-15 min.

Question for PETA supporters?
Are aquariums okay? (more specifically the Boston Aquarium)Question for PETA supporters?
Yes. peta actually endorses aquariums because they are helping endangered fish and sealife.
sorry, meant minus the second guy, lol
I don't always support PETA in everything that they do, but generally I do not support aquariums because animals that were wild and free with their families are forcibly taken to live in captivity for human entertainment.
PETA thinks seeing eye dogs are being exploited and beekeeping should be banned What do you think their opinion of a place where they put animals on display for amusement is?
Masterpy is being factitious... Woody is correct.

What kind of fish is this ?
When i was at the Boston Aquarium, i saw this really cute fish i liked, but i didn't know what it was called. I asked one of the workers and she said that it was a scrawled cowfish. hen i reasearched this fish, i saw it had horns. But the fish i saw had no horns. So my question is- What kind of cowfish -looking fish has no horns?
THANK YOU!!!What kind of fish is this ?
It probably WAS a scrawled cowfish. Unlike employees that work at Petsmart and Petco, people that work at public aquariums ACTUALLY do know what they're talking about...
Possibly a trigger fish? Looks a bit similar to a cowfish. What kind of fish is this ?

Looking for fun things to do with my 3 1/2 year old nephew in Boston-Providence-Mystic area?
I'm bringing my nephew home for Easter weekend (April 21-25) to see my parents in Massachusetts. I'm a student at Temple University in Philadelphia (where my nephew lives), and I was looking for some fun things I could do with him when I bring him home with me. My parents live in MA, about 40 minutes from Boston.
I was thinking (weather permitting, of course) of taking my nephew to the Roger Williams Zoo in Providence or maybe Mystic Aquarium. I've taken him both places before, but he was quite young at the time so I'm not sure he'll really remember. We took him to the Boston Aquarium last year, and he loved it.
I'll probably be taking him somewhere on the Friday (the 22nd) or Saturday (the 23rd).
I'm 20 (almost 21), so I'd prefer the activity to be something I'd enjoy as well. I have no problem going into Boston with him, or Providence, RI or even Mystic, CT... anything in that area. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!!Looking for fun things to do with my 3 1/2 year old nephew in Boston-Providence-Mystic area?

Porstmouth NH to Boston Ma?
My family is going on vacation to see other family this month. I would love to take my kids to the Boston Aquarium but do not want to drive in Boston. Is there a train I can take my 3 kids on from Porstmouth to Boston? How much is it? Is there a website I can go to? Even by bus would be fine if affordable. Thanks in advancePorstmouth NH to Boston Ma?
The commuter rail out of Newburyport is your best option. www.mbta.com.
The train stops at North Station (a.k.a. Boston Garden). It's not that far to walk from North Station to the aquarium,
Driving isn't that bad and probably a push cost wise. The expense will be parking, probably $30? If drive then you have your own schedule. To drive in take 95 to I93, get off at Gov Center exit (inside the tunnel), take a right at the light at the top of the ramp. Two blocks down on your left is a parking garage for Faneuil Hall. Park there your done.
But then, riding the trail will probably be fun for your kids.
Yes, you can catch the commuter rail from Newburyport, MA. Website is www.mbta.com, and I want to say its $12-14 each way for adults but kids ride free (fare info is on the site too).
There is also C%26amp;J bus lines with a stop in Pease Tradeport in Portsmouth. Website is www.ridecj.com. This might be a little more expensive, but not much, and I think they have a kids ride free plan too. This will take you to South Station, where you can catch the T to the aquarium (its a stop on the blue line that puts you very close to the entrance).Porstmouth NH to Boston Ma?

Where can i interact with penguins?
I live in New Hampshire, and I was wondering where I can interact with penguins and other marine life in something like a behind the scenes tour? I think it would be cool to experience that and be able to get pictures.
The boston aquarium opportunity looks kind of lame, so I was wondering if there was anything else out there. Thanks so much!Where can i interact with penguins?
Phillip Island near Melbourne Victoria Australia. You can see hundreds of Fairy Penguins Parading past every sunset and sunrise on the beach's of Phillip Island. THERE IS A MAJOR CAR RACE THERE EACH YR AS WELL. Type in Phillip Island Penguin Parade into your yahoo or google search bar. Many guided tours starting at $100 per person from Melbourne (capital of Victoria Australia) You can sit or walk amongst the penguins as they walk fromm their burrows to the sea and back again. Pictures allowed but touching, picking up or scaring them is punishable by law. If a trip to Australia is out of your holiday budget then maybe you could still look at the web address i listed above plus contact your local zoo or aquarium for a behind the scenes tour.
There are no wild penguins in the Northan Hemisphere, if there were the polar bears, wolfs of the North would eat them.Where can i interact with penguins?
Go to antarctica they have a lot of penguins there.

Boston Aquarium Change Much ?
My boyfriends mom said..."that they've taken soo much stuff out in the last 5 years that it's not worth going to see...
I'm really bummin'..can you tell me if this is true ?
Penguins still there ?Boston Aquarium Change Much ?
Penguins are still there thank goodness. They are the only reason why I went the last time I was there.
Yes it has changed a lot, the older you get the smaller it gets. It is not worth what they charge for you to get in. There is just the big tank in the middle and the outer edges have some tanks. Thats about it.
The touching pound or whatever they call it is a big pain in the butt because last time I was there I don't know how many times I was pushed. My bestfriends son had a hard time trying to touch stuff because kids were pushing him too.
Wait till the fall and go to a library in MA and you can get passes to the aquirium. They don't accept them in the summer time though.
My advice if you really like Penguins like me, then go but it really isn't worth it.Boston Aquarium Change Much ?
Ya the penquins are there,if you go onto their website it will tell you what there is there,i love going to the aquarium no matter if its the same or not.

Which aquarium do you like better....Mystic or the Boston Aquarium?
I find Mystic to be nicer and less crowded. They have dolphins and Beluga whales to go along with all the other animals. Boston is usually more crowded, but its in the city so you have more to do. They mostly have the same creatures, except Boston has a huge like 3 story fish tank and a sea lion show. Given where I live, (1 hour from Boston, about 2 from Mystic) I would pick a day trip down to Mystic.Which aquarium do you like better....Mystic or the Boston Aquarium?

Can i walk (comfortably) from the boston aquarium to the charles playhouse theatre (blue man group loc.) ?
Are there "things to do" or restraunts or bars on the way?.... how far is the prudential tower from the playhouse?.... i looked it up on yahoo maps... but i wasnt too sure of how far it actually would be.Can i walk (comfortably) from the boston aquarium to the charles playhouse theatre (blue man group loc.) ?
The Charles Playhouse is about 1.2 miles from the Aquarium, easily within walking distance. It's a fairly easy walk too, not too many twists and turns. Google Maps does walking directions now too, here's a set that should help you out:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d%26amp;saddr=90鈥?/a>
Sorry for the long link, but it should work.
As for the Pru, it's 1 mile away from the Charles Playhouse, essentially straight up Boylston Street, really easy to get to.
Have a good time, and don't be ashamed to ask for directions if you get lost or anything too. Most people will help you out.
Sure, wear comfortable shoes and pray for decent weather. It's about a mile distance, and a little over a mile between the Prudential and the Playhouse.
There are lots of shops and restaurants as well as part of the Freedom Trail between the Aquarium and the Playhouse. Also lots of shops and restaurants between the Prudential and the Playhouse. Can i walk (comfortably) from the boston aquarium to the charles playhouse theatre (blue man group loc.) ?
The Aquarium to Charles Playhouse is within walking distance, sure. Not sure of the acutal distance...maybe a mile or so. Straight up State Street to Tremont, then hang a left and walk straight down Tremont....
From the Pru to the Charles playhouse, maybe a mile or so.
In general, Boston is a very walkable city, hence why they call it the Walking City.

Oh hello. I am looking for a cheap motel near the Boston Aquarium. Any ideas?
Boston is super expensive. Hotel rooms in the city start at $300.
You need to go up Route 1 to the "love hotels" in Saugus for cheap prices.Oh hello. I am looking for a cheap motel near the Boston Aquarium. Any ideas?
Nothing cheap at all. Probably the least expensive is The Shawmut Inn, a European style hotel fashioned out of a couple of rehabbed old buildings near North Station, about a 10 minute walk from the Aquarium.

Fluid force problem (hydrostatic force). Boston Aquarium?
The viewing portion of the rectangular glass window in a typical fish tank at the New England Aquarium inBoston is 63 in wide and runs from 0.5 inches below the water's surface to 33.5 inches below the surface. The weight-densit of seawater is p= 64lb/ft^3. Find the fluid force against the viewing portionof the window. (Be careful of your units).Fluid force problem (hydrostatic force). Boston Aquarium?
The force on the window is proportional to the depth of the water. The force is the (density of the water) * (depth^2/2) * (width of the window) all in consistent units, and this acts at the centroid of the water pressure diagram. The centroid of the triangular pressure diagram is 1/3 up from the base or (33.5-.5)/3 = 11 inches from the base.
The depth of the water is 33.5-.5 = 33 inches = 2.75 ft. The width of the panel = 63" = 5.25 feet.
The resulting force on the glass panel = 64*2.75^2/2*(5.25)= 1271 lbsFluid force problem (hydrostatic force). Boston Aquarium?
Ok, here's how you do it:
First you draw a diagram like in any problem you attempt to make.
From that you can get the next integral:
F=integral(p*h*w*derivative(h))
where p is the weight density, h is the depth and w is the width
integrating you get
F=p*w(hf^2-ho^2)/2
and substituting
F=(64lb/ft^3)(63in)(33.5in^2-0.5in^2)/鈥?br>
F=1309lb
as you may see, the formula for the force is like getting the area of a triangle and multiplying it by the depth, where one side of the triangle is the density and the height is the depth.
hope this helps.

Where would be a good place to stay in Boston?
We're planning to stay 1 night at a nearby hotel in the Boston aquarium area. Do you know any hotels that are affordable for 2 adults and 1 child?? Also, where exactly is the Boston aquarium located in?Where would be a good place to stay in Boston?
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
The Aquarium is on Long Wharf, about a 10 minute walk from Faneuil Hall, and the North End. There is a Marriott Hotel right there, next to the Aquarium. They frequently have family weekend deals, check Hotels.com or Orbitz for discounted rates. Here is the link for the hotel:

It is located on The Blue Line of the subway system. There is also a water shuttle right there on Long Wharf that can take you across the harbor to the USS Constitution %26lt;about a 5 minute water taxi ride%26gt;
Hope you enjoy your visit...regards to the penguins and sea lions :)Where would be a good place to stay in Boston?
The Marriot Long Wharf or the Millennium Bostonian. I stayed at the Millennium Bostonian by getting a great deal on Priceline. The Aquarium is located at 1 Central Wharf, right beside the Marriot and Faneuil hall. Actually, if you look up hotels close to Faneuil hall you'll be close to everything, so Im sure you can find something cheaper nearby. Then again, it's Boston and everythings expensive, so good luck.breakfast pizza ginos east

Cross the Street and take a right. You can't miss it.I want to walk from the Boston Aquarium to Fanuil Hall/Quincy Market. Help a brother out with directions!?
I assume you've already figured this out but if not, here you go.
At the bottom of the street (where the Aquarium is), turn right and keep walking and walking. You'll end up at the rear of the buildings you want.
You'll know you are there because folks will walk slower and you'll see outdoor performers and probably hear music.
Enjoy!

Mystic Aquarium or Boston Aquarium?
I love aquariums and I want to make a day trip out of visiting one. Which one is better to visit? Boston Aquarium or Mystic Aquarium. I love going to see the fish and sharks in the tanks and stuff and less interested in watching the shows they put on. Travel time would be equal for me for both. Admission is the same too.Mystic Aquarium or Boston Aquarium?
Boston for sure. Beyond the Aquarium itself, Boston is just a more interesting place to visit than Mystic.Mystic Aquarium or Boston Aquarium?
i have been to both and boston is bigger and better.

Or you can just take the Red Line Inbound to South Station and walk from there. It's a nice 10 minute walk.
You can do two things:
1. Take red line and stop at Downtown Crossing. Transfer to the orange line toward Oak Grove. Get off at Haymarket, The aquarium is about a 15 minute walk from there.
2. Take the red line and transfer to the orange line at Downtown Crossing (just like the first option). Take the orange line towards Oak Grove and get off at State Station. Should I drive into Boston? (Aquarium)?
I'm planning a weekend trip up to Massachusetts to see the fall splendor in Concord and visit Salem. We are thinking of spending 1 day in Boston to go to the New England Aquarium. If this is our only destination, do you think it's wise to drive in or skip it and see other parts of MASS.Should I drive into Boston? (Aquarium)?
If you can drive in NYC and Philly you can drive in Boston. Just make sure you have directions because the streets are confusing. But, the aquarium actually has a lot of parking around it, so you can just pick any of the lots and walk right down. Depending what time of day you go, traffic ISN'T that bad, seriously. I know tons of people will be spouting about how horrid it is, etc etc etc, but I drive it every day to work, and after driving in LA and NYC- trust me it's not so bad! LOL . . .Especially if you go late morning/mid day. You'll be fine. Also, the aquarium is great, as is the area it's in so I think it's VERY worth the trip!!! Enjoy!
You could drive to Wonderland Station in Revere and take the subway to Aquarium Station on the MBTA Blue Line.

Concord MA or Concord NH?
Anyways, if you're heading up 95, perhaps you should double dip and hit the Mystic Aquarium on the way to the NE Aquarium.
And of course, if you're heading to Concord, you should definitely see Lexington as well since they're so close to one another.
If you've not been to Charlestown, you should also go to Bunker hill monument (you can climb it) and see old Ironsides (USS constitution) if you've got time.
And the food, yes, that goes w/o saying. Driving shouldn't be too bad. Just be careful. As opposed to NY where people drive close and know what they're doing, many Boston drivers drive close and do very unexpected things.
Hope you have a great time!
I live an hour from Boston, Ma and you are correct..the parking is crazy and expensive. Just make sure you get your ticket validated after parking if you park at the Aquarium...or they charge you a ton more.
If you go Sunday you may be able to find a spot to park on the street, and traffic will not be as bad.fazolis applebees

Has anyone been to the Boston Aquarium? I want to take my kids.?
but I want to know if it would keep the interest of a 3 and 5 year old. It seems interesting on the internet, but does anyone have personal experience with it? Thanks.Has anyone been to the Boston Aquarium? I want to take my kids.?
Its a decent aquarium. It's all indoors..a 4 or so story tank in the middle with lots of bigger fish %26amp; a spiraling walkway around plus smaller exhibits on the right as you walk up. Lots of penguins on the ground level %26amp; a sea lion show. No dolphins or other sea mammals though. Boston also has a good childrens museum %26amp; museum of science. Enjoy!

Well take them.What's the problem?
I agree with Lisa, Mystic is MUCH better we have taken our two year old to both aquariums and Boston was more expensive and not that great the only real attraction is the tank in the center. Mystic has a great variety, and is near alot of cute shops as well and it is less expensive! Have fun!!

Good questions to ask in a interview at the boston aquarium?
Does the cafeteria serve fish?
Do catfish really look like cats?
Would it be in bad taste to refer to the squid as "pre calamari?"
Ask if they keep the mussels in the gym?
If I throw a lawyer in the shark tank, will they throw him back?
Are Shell fish related to Exxon fish?
Can an electric eel power my ipod?

Charlesmark Hotel
Stylish boutique hotel in a former private residence. This small hotel is a good value in a historic location. Nightly rates from about $190.
Boston is very compact. You can stay in Back Bay, Copley Square, Theater District and it will be easy to get to the Aquarium.
The neighborhood that is closest to the aquarium is Quincy Market %26amp; Financial district. The closest hotel is the Marriott Long Wharf. But, again, you can stay in any of the above neighborhoods and easily get to the aquarium. What is the best area to stay in if visiting the Boston Aquarium for a hotel? What is the neighborhood called?
The area where the aquarium is is called the waterfront.
There are numerous nice hotels in the immediate area.
Boston is a very walkable city with good safe public transportation, Meaning you could also stay in the Back Bay area (many nice hotels) or the area around the convention center and still have easy access to the waterfront.
Stay at the Marriottt Long Wharf. You can walk to the acquarium only a 5 minute walk. Also, it is near restaurants. and you can walk to the Quincey Market Fanueil Hall area which is wonderful. It is in ner the NOrth End which is the Italian District and has a ton of wonderful restaurants.
Well you have a ton of answers from others! Waterfront is most common but Lower State Street is also correct, even The Aquarium District, and so close to Quincy Market/Fanueil, the North End and North Station/Blackstone. In Boston the neighborhoods change very quickly
Im sorry. I only know places near Salem,Beverly or Cape Cod.

Which is better the Boston Aquarium or Boston Zoo?
I'm looking for something fun to do for my birthday. It will be just me and my fiance. The aquariums in CT are so small and I was wondering if the one in Boston is more impressive. I was also thinking about the zoo.Which is better the Boston Aquarium or Boston Zoo?
Def. the Aquarium. They also have the largest screen in New England as far as movies go and they play 3D IMAX there. It's awesome. It's on the water (which I love) and there are all kinds of animals there. Right next the the museum are all kinds of shops and historical things. It's so much fun. I've been livning here for almost 20 years (I'm almost 23) and I still have so much fun there.
No no no to the Stone Zoo. It's very small and depressing -- it's okay if you want an inexpensive activity some morning, but it is not worth a long drive at all.
Franklin Park Zoo is a much better option, for zoos. It's decent, but is kind of trek if you're taking public transportation. Not in a great neighborhood, either. There is parking there, though, if you're driving.
The New England Aquarium is nice -- it's a good place to spend a day, in addition to the aquarium itself, you can go on a whale watch from there, or see an IMAX movie. There are a lot of bars and restaurants within walking distance -- it's pretty close to the North End and the Fanueil Hall tourist trap.Which is better the Boston Aquarium or Boston Zoo?
The New England Aquarium is great, as is the Franklin Park Zoo. If you want to be in a more centralized location, go to the aquarium and if you don't mind being outside the center of the city, you can go to the zoo, which is in the Hyde Park neighborhood.
I like Franklin Park. They raised the admission there though. It's in Dorchester. I like the neighborhood, it has character lol. Just because it's in a black/hispanic neighborhood does not make it bad people!!!!
The aquarium, no question.
Franklin Park Zoo is hard to find, it's in a pretty rough neighborhood, and there aren't any animals there. Don't waste your time.
Which Zoo? Franklin Park?
I'd go for the Aquarium. It's very impressive.
I'd say go for "fish' or animals depending on what YOU love best and forget the size! There is more walking for converstaion at the zoo, y'all!
The aquarium beats the zoo (which is pitiful).bartending school live meeting

The aquarium beats the zoo (which is pitiful).
Did the Boston Aquarium ever have a whale?
Today I asked my mom if she had ever seen a whale and she said she might have at the Boston Aquarium but she couldn't remember because she was little.Did the Boston Aquarium ever have a whale?
Not that I know of. I really don't think they have a tank large enough to house a whale. Not even the center tank.
Ahh, I never thought of outside! It's very possible that they've had one on display at one point. I also know that Boston does usually have whale watches.

Is there a small private boat service that does whale watching near the Boston Aquarium area?
I went last weekend on a very large boat seating up to around 200 people. (Which was awesome) BUT...I'd like something a little more personable where theres only a few people and you can stay out in the water longer. Thanks in advance!!Is there a small private boat service that does whale watching near the Boston Aquarium area?
Your other options are to charter a boat or talk to a local fisherman and make a deal. Either one is expensive, but I used to be a lobsterman in that area, and this is a slow time of year. Look for 'First Light' or "Windemere" charters- they're a father and son who each have beautiful newer lobster boats, which provide a nice, stable ride. Good luck.

What qualifications to be scuba diver in huge aquarium? I watch the Boston aquarium webcam and?
often scuba divers doing maintenance or something. Would you have to be a marine biologist, for ex? Thanks. What qualifications to be scuba diver in huge aquarium? I watch the Boston aquarium webcam and?
I'd say the primary qualification is to be a certified diver. If there's competition for the position, advanced certification would be a plus. I don't think you have to have a degree in marine biology to do cleaning and maintenance work, but again it could give someone an edge if there are several qualified applicants for the same position. The best way to find out would be to ask someone at the aquarium.

Boston Aquarium?
Hi, I am planning a trip to the Boston Aquarium around the middle of September, does anyone have any advice for lodging and dininig places. Also, are there other attractions near the Aquarium? Does anyone know the best time of day to get there, like the times that they do the feeding? Thank-you so much for your help.Boston Aquarium?
It's actually called the New England Aquarium.
There is a legal Seafood across the street, which is a great restaurant and tons of little restaurants if you walk around. Boston is a walking city so there's tons to do. In the immediate area, there is the Fisherman's Wharf.
There's also a Mariott hotel nearby
I imagine that the morning would be the best time to get there, schools may also have some trips.
www.neaq.org
There is a harbor right at the aquarium, and I think some restaurants. You are in the heart of Boston there is so much to see, if you have a rental car stay just outside the city it is less expensive. Do not go into Boston during the work commute hours, it is horrendous driving...Boston Aquarium?
Is this really news or current events? I think not !

Airtrans airlines?
I have flown almost every airline in the country except for US Airways, and I have no need to because it is the worst airline in the country.
I live in ATL and have flown Airtran a few times; however, I much prefer Delta which is without question one of the top two best airlines in the country with Continental being another.
The great thing about Airtran is they have some of the best luggage handlers in the country. There stats for lost luggage per 1,000 customers is something like 30/1,000 which is really good. Their on time performance is pretty good as well. Every month they are always right behind Delta which is usually ranked 7 or 8 out of 30 airlines. The customer support on the phone or in personal is not too friendly. You just have to hope you get lucky in finding a good agent; however, their flight attendants are reasonable. I hate the jets and seating configurations of Airtran. They operate 737's and 717's which are always crowded and for some reason the leg room seems worse than most economy flights. Maybe this is because the planes are small.
They usually have good deals; however, if you鈥檙e flying round trip their fares can be the same as Delta or any other carrier in which I would choose the other carrier. However, they are great with one way fares. Keep in mind that Airtran always has their best deals for travel on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday because these are the least traveled days of the week. Sometimes they have early bird specials (first flight of the day) which are really great. I flew from ATL to Chicago for only $29 dollars one way. I did have to leave at 5:45a which was a pain but it was worth it for the price. So the deals are usually pretty good.
If you are flying out or into ATL it is always crowed because they have not expanded their check in and baggage claim area (don鈥檛 know why).
Their snacks are decent and the jets are pretty clean, however, their seats are not the most comfortable. It is not a bad airline yet you do have to pay up to $15 dollars for the seat of your choice which is really bad since I do not have to pay for any other airline.
If you are flying from one of their focus cities besides ATL such as Boston, Chicago (Midway), Orlando, Baltimore, Ft. Lauderdale, or Tampa, I would fly Jetblue or Southwest instead.
If the price is the same for a larger carrier such as Delta, Continental, or United take them instead.
Overall for the deals you potentially can get you should not be too disappointed.
Hope this helpsAirtrans airlines?
AirTran flies from their hub in Atlanta, GA (ATL). Focus cities/smaller hubs also include Orlando, FL (MCO), Chicao-Midway (MDW), and others around the US. They feature Boeing 717 and 737 aircrafts that include a 2x2 Business Class section, in-flight beverages, XM radio, and more. Frontier and AirTran recently joined their network and frequent flyer program.

I agree with the above. Very rude, especially in Atlanta. You get what you pay for.Airtrans airlines?
And are notoriously rude and lose my luggage everytime I fly them. I wish I could say I was exaggerating. They've lost my bags the last five times in a row.
Yea what about them? They are a Orlando Based airline with a major hub in Atlanta. They are the offcial state airline of Florida and have a very young fleet of Boeing 717s and 737s airplanes and fly all over the US.sonic electronix portuguese translator

I have two questions here I am completely stuck on,,,even if you could just get me started in the right direction it would be great.
Popcorn sales in movie theaters break down as 40% plain popcorn and 60% buttered popcorn. While 65% of the plain popcorn is purchased by adults, 80% of the buttered popcorn is purchased by children.
(a) (4pts. each part) develop a joint probability table using this information:
popcorn sales
adults
children
totals:

0.40
buttered
0.60

To fill in this table, you need to compute the following:
1. the percentage of purchases accounted for by adults buying plain popcorn
2. the percentage of purchases accounted for by children buying plain popcorn
3. the percentage of purchases accounted for by adults buying buttered popcorn
4. the percentage of purchases accounted for by children buying buttered popcorn
5. the percentage of popcorn purchases by adults
6. the percentage of popcorn purchases by children
(b) (6 pts) If a child purchases popcorn, what is the probability that it is buttered popcorn?
(c) (4 pts) If we let:
C represent the event 'child purchases popcorn'
B represent the event 'patron purchases buttered popcorn'
Then what probability in terms of B and C are you being asked to compute in part b?

Nobody is going to read this novel, answer all two dozen questions, and all for the off-chance of winning a ten point BA - which probably wont be appropriately won anyway due to self-voting and incompetent patron selections.
You could break this up into a bunch of ten point questions and get each bit explained to you.

Brisbane to Gold Coast Train discount for College Student?
My wife and I are from US (college graduate student) can we use ISIC and get discount for translink or Airtrans ticket from Bisbane to Gold Coast? Our trip consist of Melbourne, Cairn/Port Douglass, Brisbane/GC, and Sydney for about 24 days. We will be flying from US to Melbourne, Melbourne to Cairn (rent a car to travel between Cairns and Port Douglass), and fly from Cairns to Brisbane (no car rental here and prefer to use public transit) and Brisbane to Sydney. Any advices or comment will be greatly appreciated. PS. We will be traveled from 12/22/09-1/16/2010. Any comments or advices will be greatly appreciated. -d-Brisbane to Gold Coast Train discount for College Student?
Cheaper to fly from Brisbane to the Gold Coast than take the train? Ridiculous! They are so close there aren't any flights between them. If you wanted to fly you would have to hire your own private jet and even then it would probably take longer than the train ride.
Brisbane to the Gold Coast by train only takes an hour.Brisbane to Gold Coast Train discount for College Student?
You need an Australian student card to travel cheaper on the trains. Sometimes it is cheaper to fly take a look at jet star and virgin flights
http://www.jetstar.com/
http://www.virginblue.com.au/
You will be travelling in peak time which is our holidays so things may be more expensive. Although in Cairns it is the start of the wet season up there in the tropics so you may get some cheaper deals in accomodation if you are looking for accomodation try www.wotif.com for deals but one would only book a week or 2 in advance there. The drive between Cairns and brisbane is good if you change your mind and take a hire car or camper then you can sleep in the camper there are plenty of free places rest areas near the highways and you could call in to Airlie beach gateway to the Whitsunday islands. Expect hot humid weather up North that time of year. Virgin have a happy hour between 12 and 1pm Australian time and jetstar have friday frenzy on a friday between 4 and 8pm for cheaper flights.

May I pack my pillow?
I'm traveling to NY in a couple of days with airTRANS.
I would like to bring my pillow, packed. I could put in in my checked luggage or carry- on, I think; however, my mom thinks they might tear it open to make sure there's nothing in it. ...I really like this pillow.
So can I pack it?May I pack my pillow?
A lot of people bring pillows on planes, especially on long flights. They definitely would NOT tear your pillow open... they have x-ray machines for that sort of thing (; . If you decide against bringing it, most planes have pillows and blankets on them, just ask the steward or stewardess. Have a good trip(: !
I don't believe they'd tear a pillow open to see what's inside as the airlines have x-ray machines to scan all the luggage that gets loaded on the airplane. If you really don't want to risk it, consider purchasing another pillow to take with you just in case...May I pack my pillow?
You can take your pillow, plenty of people do.

Air travel connection?
Hi, I have a flight with a 30 minute layover and I was wondering if that would be enough time for me to get to the next flight (its at ATL, pretty big airport). Also, if the first flight is delayed will Airtrans make arrangements on another flight? I'm really worried about this cause I know flights usually run pretty late.Air travel connection?
Thirty minutes is extremely tight. I would never accept such a short connection. Also, I formerly worked in the travel industry and always advised customers not to do this. It only takes a short delay to cause you to miss your connection.
If you miss your connection, AirTran will put you on the next flight with an available seat. However, there is always the risk that the next flight (or two or three) will be sold out so be prepared to potentially spend some time waiting. If you are on a discount ticket, they probably will not rebook you on another airline due to the expense. If you're stuck overnight, the airline does not have to pay for your hotels or meals.
Next trip, I strongly suggest giving yourself more time.
It depends how close the connecting gate is. If you miss your connection, they will do their best to get you on the next flight.
This is why I always build in at least an hour for connecting flights. Air travel connection?
Airtran flies into concourse D, check out this map to see where your other airline comes into. If you're flying domestic you should be fine.

I agree with Tonal.............that's calling it a little close....I'd look for a better connection with an hour or more. I would be worried too.
30 min in ATL is going to be really, really tough! i usually like more than 1 hour in atl. because things happen.
what row are you in? sometimes when you get stuck in the rows in the 20's it'll take 20 minutes just waiting for the people in front of you to grab their bag and get off the plane! also, what if the plane is late, what if you get stuck at the gate?
airtran will have options waiting for you if you miss the connection- just go to the special service counter or see any gate agent. it may be a 3-6 hour wait, but they'll get you there eventually. make sure to ask for money for food becuase they made you late- they'll only give it to you if u ask!

Domestic Flight USA - Carrying 1 small suitcase, 1 laptop bag and 1 small school bag.?
Can I carry 3 of them into domestic flight within USA and also International Flight? (AirTrans, American Airline and Northwest)Domestic Flight USA - Carrying 1 small suitcase, 1 laptop bag and 1 small school bag.?
I believe you are limited to one carry on (whatever that is as long as it is within the airline's size limit) and one personal bag. (such as a purse or laptop bag)
No, you cannot. The limit is one standard carry-on suitcase along with ONE laptop bag, school bag, etc..
So that means you would have to find a way to fit the laptop and the things in your school bag into one bag. Or you can always transfer the things in the school bag to the suitcase and leave your laptop in it's carrying case. That would make it two bags, not exceeding the limit. I would go with the latter.Domestic Flight USA - Carrying 1 small suitcase, 1 laptop bag and 1 small school bag.?
Northwest Airlines Carry-on Allowance
Be sure to check new requirements from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regarding restrictions to items in carry-on baggage. Visit www.tsa.gov for details.
Northwest allows you to carry one piece of baggage on board the aircraft plus a purse or briefcase or laptop computer or small backpack. The carry-on baggage must be of a size and shape to allow for storage in overhead compartments or underneath the seat in front of you.
Dimensions:
Cannot exceed 45 linear inches (9 inches by 14 inches by 22 inches)
Following the above you will have to put your school bag in the suitcase, and ensure the maximum dimensions are not exceeded.
No, but find a medium sized bag that can fit both your laptop and your school bag inside it. Then you'll be fine.

Airline Porn --- it is an airline, i think it is in the US, but i'm not sure at which part?
Anyone ever heard about Airline Porn?
Where's its home base? What's the destinations?
Any website tells us more about that?
Does it has something to do with AirTrans?
Why it is called Airline Porn? ---- i really dont know what came to the owner's mind so he chose that name. lolAirline Porn --- it is an airline, i think it is in the US, but i'm not sure at which part?
Could it be this? Air New Zealand isn't an American airline but they stirred some comments when the safety video was done in the raw. The uniforms are painted on. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/03鈥?/a>
The airline is Southwest, and it is in the US. They entered into an agreement with Sports Illustrated to publicize the Swimsuit Issue and some one didn't like it. Here is some shots of the plane. Some folks definition of porn is different than mine.

The restaurant company, Hooters, had a small airline called Hooters Air. Not exactly porn, but certainly related! This airlines ceased operations in 2006.

It seems it refers to the blogger's tongue-in-cheek commentary on how some airlines paint some of their planes or how some planes look different than normal for any reason. .

Flying with dog in cabin on AIRTRAN?
I am flying with my chihuahua on march 11. The website says the carrier must be max 8.5"x17x12. 8.5" high.. this seems a bit small and i cannot find a caarrier that small! has anyone taken a dog on airtrans? Are soft sided carriers approved? I tried calling but the wait time was 15mins..Flying with dog in cabin on AIRTRAN?
Animals
We accept small, domesticated cats, dogs and birds that will fit in an approved carrier under the seat.
* The pet kennel is limited to maximum dimensions of 8.5" high x 17" long x 12" wide.
* The carrier must be leak proof and ventilated on at least two sides.
* There is no weight restriction on pets.
* The pet must remain in the carrier and under the seat for the duration of the flight.
Airfare for a pet is $65.00 one-way. Only three (3) pets are allowed per flight. As limited space is available, advanced reservations must be made. Of course, service animals (e.g., Seeing Eye dogs) are always welcome onboard regardless of the number of pets already booked on the flight.
For additional information about traveling with a pet or to book pet travel, please contact the AirTran Airways reservations desk at 1-800-AIR-TRAN (1-800-247-8726) or 678-254-7999 for international calls.
In many airports, AirTran Airways sells pet kennels for a nominal fee at the ticket counter. AirTran Airways does not transport pets as checked baggage.
just a suggsestion go to your local pet store they are bound to have some carriers for your dog
Typically the carrier should be soft-sided and have adequate ventilation for your dog. You may see weight restrictions as well as dimension limits but your Chihauhua shouldn't be that's heavy. Weight restrictions are usually not enforced, Your dog should be able to stand up and turn around in the bag, anything smaller than this will not be comfortable for your dog and isn鈥檛 your dog鈥檚 comfort your main concern?Flying with dog in cabin on AIRTRAN?
no i don`t think soft side carriers are approved . i know that the bottom has to be hard and if the sides were soft the dog might get squished because they have to go in the cargo section.

Does anyone know of any great discount airlines?
I've looked at Airtrans %26amp; ExpediaDoes anyone know of any great discount airlines?
a good site to buy cheap tickets is spirit airlines
Every time I check prices or buy tickets Southwest is always the best.Does anyone know of any great discount airlines?
try southwest airlines. you have to bring your own lunch, but it can be a lot cheaper.
US airways, hardly fly on time but cheap, same counts for easy jet.
Southwest is good. JetBlu is cheap but I think that they are the same company that was ValueJet. They just changed their name after the bad publicity they got from the crash years ago.

How can i cancel my air tickets?
I have booked air tickets for southwest airlines and airtrans airlines. They are non-refundable. For some minor reason I wont be able to use them. How can i cancel those. Pls. help. How can i cancel my air tickets?
Occasionally you'll find that you will be offered credits or the ability to rebook at a later date for an additional fee, but the only way to confirm this is to contact the airline directly, for Southwest, call 1-800-I-FLY-SWA (1-800-435-9792)
Well, if it is a low cost airline then maybe you won't get a penny back from them if they states that it is non-refundable. But if it's a good airline then you maybe eligible to get refund if you ask for it atleast 48 hours before your flight departure date/time. This 48 hours early departure cancellation allowance by airline is a international rule but doesn't applicable to the low cost airlines. I suggest, you check with their policy clearly regarding your ticket and it depends what type/class of ticket you purchased. And also, restricted fare ticket won't have any refund at all.How can i cancel my air tickets?

Is Sunday A Good Day To Travel Standby?
I'm going to be going to New York in the first week of March with a roommante. We are leaving from Atlanta Hartsfield Airport. We were going to leave on Saturday because we had heard that it wasn't as busy as Friday, Sunday, or Monday but he had a wedding to go to. So is Sunday a good day to go standby?
This is through Airtrans Student fair program
And should we get there early morning or late night or what?Is Sunday A Good Day To Travel Standby?
Sunday evening can be bad. I say show up for the very first flight of the day. I doubt too many travel Sunday *morning*. Then you can keep trying for every flight all day long!
Call revs late at night. Some are open 24 hours a day. Don't call during business hours anywhere in the country (calls are re-routed). Often they're bored in the late evening and happy to chat and look up flights for you.
Good luck getting onboard! Is Sunday A Good Day To Travel Standby?
Nope...people are going to or returning for weeks where ever....we like saturday return and friday outbound.
