What will southwest do with airtran fleet?

After southwest merge with airtran what will southwest airline do with airtran fleet since they southwest only flys boing 737. I know that southwest may keep airtrans 737 but how about 717What will southwest do with airtran fleet?
As stated all aircraft which still offer economic sustainability will be transferred to the Southwest fleet.

As of now Southwest has indeed expressed interest in the utilization of the smaller 717 as a means to operate into more marginal markets that Southwest does not currently serve. But most of the 86 717s operated by AirTran are done so under various lease agreements which gives Southwest the ability to dump them should viability be unproven.

Keep in mind that only the transactional agreement has been announced as an anti-trust review must be undertaken to solidify any merger. The full nature of unification will not be fully realized until the 2012 fiscal year.

On a side note it is statistically defined that the communistic attitude and selfish ignorance of people like JetMech contribute to airline profitability and safety being driven into the red; the fall of Eastern Airlines being a prime example. The business model of Southwest has not only led to record profitability, but has inspired some of the leading management-labor relations and customer satisfaction in the industry.
Say bye bye to anthing but 737s. Think SWA is gonna change their business model now? Not bloody likely.

Smart move for Southwest. bad for the airline industry. Southwest is a dirty rotten filthy cancer on the airline industry. Southwest is dragging the entire airline industry down to the lowest possible common denominator with their shabby, dirty little, 737 war planes. They've slit everybody's throat. They trashed an entire way of life. They trashed aviation in America.

Tens of thousands of good hard working airline professionals have lost their jobs because of Southwest Airlines cut-throat competition. Careers ended, lives ruined. Many too old to start over again.

You might say, there has been cut throat competition before SWA came along....yes, but the difference has been that if one airline was run out of business by others, the others absorbed the displaced workers at equivalent, good paying jobs. The same can NOT be said of Southwest airlines who outsources the VAST majority of their aircraft mainternance. In actual matter of fact, Southwest is the MOST anti-union airline going, because they outsource the vast majority of man-hours worked on their aircraft to low paying, anti-union, chop shops.

Southwest is the antichrist of airlines.

Those are fighting words when you accuse me of being unsafe. Cut throat competition leads to unsafe conditions, not union shops which bring stability, safety oversight, and enforcement. Certain low cost airlines have been accused of keeping maintenance write-ups on napkins instead of in the log book, which is illegal as hell. Want to continue? What will southwest do with airtran fleet?
Southwest will integrate AirTran's fleet of Boeing 717鈥檚 and Boeing 737-700 series aircraft into Southwest Airlines brand and livery.
They will probably attempt to sell off any aircraft which may be surplus to their needs.
Use them all.
well southwest will be flying some a type of airplane now won't they...
repaint them
