MAJOR HELP NEEDED!! Sister who really really needs help!, please read!!?

My sister is 11 years old, she weighs over 120 pounds,

SHOCKING I KNOW.. I have really tried to help her but shes just not coping... We have tried exercise, 50 step ups, 10 sit ups, 10 press ups, 50 leg crunches e.t.c but we haven't really been doing anything.., We have tried running but is way to embarrassed around other people and i am busy as well most of the time..

This is what she eats, i keep a close eye on her because our mum can not be bothered!

Breakfast : Cereal, either Golden nuggets, corn flakes or rice crispies

corn flakes and rice crispies with a tea spoon of sugar



Snack: Handful or Grapes, or a apple



Lunch: Pasta with sauce, or a ham sandwich with quavers



Dinner: Jacket potato with beans or cheese, spaghetti bolanaise, pasta,macaroni cheese, or roast dinner,



She places me with ALOT difficultt questions!!



can any one help with a exercise plan, or a diet??

Bare in mind that we only has a microwave to cook with!!

Your sister sounds a lot like me...I was ALWAYS a pretty fat kid. By the way, it can and sometimes DOES get worse...120 lbs isn't that much to overcome. It may very well be GENETICS and she may just be "made" to be heavy. That doesn't mean it isn't a concern...but be very careful NOT to make it the focus of your life and HERS. Every time you or anyone else speaks to her about her weight...she is losing something ALSO valuable...her self-esteem. Your sister MUST have a sister (you) that understands she is MUCH MORE than her weight!!!

You will re-inforce her NEED TO EAT WRONG (if that is happening) by keeping on making this a major focus of her life!

She needs to feel GOOD about herself...everyone does. Each individual person was made "differently" for a reason. God loves each of us in their own way...we weren't made to "fit a mold."

Now as for the delima.......focus on various types of salad that the WHOLE family eats, not just your sister! If you are in this to help then the whole family needs to be in it. REALLY dive into wide varieties and lots of fruit!!!!!!!!!

Most importantly do the other stuff...like excersice in a way that will help build her interest and self-esteem too. Help her join dance classes, or Tai Quon Do, basketball, volleyball, OR LOTS OF THINGS AT ONCE....something interesting that DOES TWO THINGS...helps with stamina, weight and ALSO helps with self-esteem. Its FUN...that is what she needs.......FUN!!!

See ANOTHER doctor who may have better focus....but this doctor was 'right-on" NO DIET PILLS...I was given the things over the course of my young years BEFORE the dangers were known. They destroy the heart and you gain the weight back as soon as you quit taking them. THIS is NOT the answer.

The focus you are on is saying to your sister that "she MUST change because how she is isn't good enough!" Is that really HOW you WANT your sister to feel? If you keep it up...she will never find help and get even larger than now. She is WHO she is.

Are you SURE there aren't some other "treats" like soda or such thrown in somewhere...soda and sweets are the culprit so much of the time. We can NOT EAT hardly at all and gain weight by drinking just two soda's a DAY! But whatever the cause...remember that if you want this solved, you MUST not make your sister feel like her WORTH as a person is her weight!!!!!!!!!!

The best way for anyone to loose weight is a total life style change.

Which would include exercising regularly - even walks, eating healthier foods - salads, fruit, veggies, nuts, milk, yogurt,

she could have a thyroid problem and should have it checked

If you can get her into see a doctor like your mom should do, then have them check her thyroid which should be in the ideal range of .3 to 2... outside that she could be having problems

11 and 120 pounds...that tells nothing. How tall is she? My daughter is 11 and 5'10 and weighs 162 pounds. Why are you so obsessed about your sisters weight...and you are embarrassed about her? I think you need the help not her...btw you never mentioned any parents ...how come? according to this site I will post you ...umm I mean your sister is in the 94 percentile(eventhough I don't know the height) ,,,which means 120 pounds and 11 years old is the same as 94% of all the same age group!!!
