First advice - get SOME education, formal or not. You will use a lot of it when you don't expect to.

Secondly - apply to work at restaurants you enjoy. It's easier to get a job if you're familiar with the food and enthusiastic about the location.

Most restaurants aren't going to judge too harshly over matters of education. Your age might be a hinderance in some locations that serve alcohol. Focus on your strengths. And remember that you don't sell the steak, you sell the sizzle.
stay in school so you don't have to work there the rest of your life. Can i work at work at these resturants if i droped out and 16?
Places like Applebee's and Red Robin will start to hire at 16. You will most likely be either a dishwasher or busboy and receive minimum wage.

However when it comes to a promotion, you WILL be passed up. Meaning you will stay a Dishwasher or Busboy. Those places REQUIRE at least a diploma or G.E.D. or higher for management. You won't be able to make more then minimum wage. Why did you feel the need to drop out of high school? I know it gets hard but stick it out. It makes getting and keeping a good paying job easier later in life. :)
Go back to school. Shoot for college. Get a degree and be a management official in restaurant industry, if that's what you really wanna do. Dont just start washing dishes now and screw up your life in kitchens....you are just 16. I m sure thats not your dream job .... that would be a nightmare.
There is no educational requirement to work in a restaurant, especially a national chain. Good employee's are hard to come by, and turn over is high in this industry. At 16 you problably would be limited to dishwasher, or busboy, or possibly a barback position. But if you take pride in the work you do, and do it well. You can cross train into other area's of the restaurant. Prep area, line cook ect.. It would also depend upon what the laws are regarding 16 year olds in your county and state. In some area's they are only allowed to work so many hours, and can't work past a certain time ect. As far as in the interview, be honest.... If you dropped out of school tell them so, also let them know (if you really plan to) that you will be going for your GED. You will want at least a highschool diploma. Cash in your pocket now is fine, but not something you will be able to live off of in the future. Hope this helps, and good luck.
you can work there, but i recommend gettng your degree first. If you dont know what I mean, see the movie Waiting....
Sure, you can work at most of these places, depending on their hiring policy.A dropout at 16? Why?My Son has his own business and lives in Dana Point Ca.I just got an e-mail from this morning, and he was beat from spending 23 hours in his limo, and will grab about 6 hours of sleep, and do another 12 or 14 hours. He makes over $100,000 per year and barely gets by.His rent is $1,600 per month, and he Never has time for anything except work.Do you think you can make that much without an education and working as a dishwasher at a restaurant? Is that the future you want? Are you living with your parents? If you have a choice,go back to school and get an education, and be a kid for now.You are too young to know what you want.It is tough in the real world.I grew up in the 50s and my family was poor, but I finished school, joined the Navy, and then put my self through college. Please don't ruin your life.
