So this morning, I felt quite motivated to start working out as I've been needing to get fit for a while now but could never find the motivation.
I've started working out on the treadmill for 10 minutes straight having 2 minutes either side walking to get my heartbeat going. So today I worked out for 14 minutes. In time, obviously I'm going to increase my duration but you have to start somewhere right? Also, i've been doing dumbells. 60 liftys on each arm weight 6kg.
I basically wanted to know what people's feedback on diets were?
I want a diet where i have three meals a day. Have my breakfast, some dinner and then an evening meal and cut out snacks in between.
I currently tend to cook lazy food to eat. For my breakfast, i'm stuck on eating childrens cereals such as Golden Nuggets and coco Pops, although I always use red top milk.
For dinner I tend to eat nothing, i tend to skip it or just put a chicvago town pizza in the microweave for three mintues, and the same again for tea. And to top it off, I usually have another bowl of cereal before I go to bed.
I want to hear peoples thoughts on diets regarding what people have tried and if they have worked, in respect to seeing a different in slow weight loss or simply an energy boost, etc.
I was thinking like Fruit n Fibre for breakfast with added loose fruit. For dinner, tuna and sweetcorn sandwhiches and for tea, some sort of pasta formed meal and cutting out the cereal at night.
do you think this is a good way to start? Im worried if I have this, I'll have it every day and lack in vitamins from other foods. Hence why i'm asking for some advice/help regarding the food routines I have daily.
Any feedback is appreciated, although I don't want to hear comments like
"Keep exercising and eat healthy and you'll be fine", its not very good advice at theend of the day.
Thanks Guys, Danny.I need help with a healthy diet?
Hey Danny,
I've recently started eating right and exercising too. Your doing great with your workout because like you said you need to start somewhere. On your diet question, Breakfast is one of the most important meals, so if you know you don't have time to actually make a whole breakfast try having some kind of fruit on hand, and having steel cut oatmeal. You can make it all on a Sunday night for example then all through the week just pop some in the microwave and serve it with some fruit. Egg whites and veggies are another great option in the morning. For dinner, you can always have a lean piece of meat, turkey, chicken, roast beef. etc. As long as its skinless. You can throw that over some salad, rice, or whole grain pasta and then add lots of veggies. It's yummy and will keep you full so your next meal won't have to be big. For your small meal after, you can have a small salad with some veggies, or a fruit salad, of even something like chicken or tuna salad. Something that isn't all different parts, just one thing that you can have a single serving of and be satisfied .
Hope I helped you Danny, Good Luck!

Snacks are healthy to eat throughout the day, because they keep your metabolism going strong. Just make sure they are healthy and the portion is small.
Mixed nuts are a great source of protein (cashews, walnuts, almonds)
Trail mix (nuts, dried fruit like cranberries or raisins, pretzels, maybe a bit of dark chocolate)
String cheese
Hardboiled eggs
Yogurt and granola (www.yocrunch.com has some great, lowfat kind)
Melba toast and peanut butter
Rice cakes and Nutella
Assorted veggies and hummus (red pepper or garlic kinds are delicious)
Fruit and cottage cheese
For meals, stick with lean meats and lots of fruits and veggies. Hope these ideas help!
