What is the best way to find cheap international flights?

I'm wanting a one-way ticket to Costa Rica for late December or early January, from Minneapolis. I know there are several places to book flights online, but which do you recommend?

Honestly I suggest booking at a local travel agent. They can help you with everything and they can find you a cheap deal. Plus if you ever have any trouble at all (miss flight, have to cancel, change dates etc.) they can help you.
You are right, there are many place to book flights online! One thing to remember is that many of those well-known "major" travel sites are owned by the same company, which means normally not much differences in their prices. The problem with that is you might miss out on great deals that may be available!

You have to think of these online travel sites like grocery stores or gas stations - they all sell the same thing, the only difference is their price. Why pay more for the same thing the other guys are selling???
