is 2 months more than enough time to travel across America on a bicycle Redwood national park- up through Wyoming,Montana, than heading down to Ohio also can you explain why the Raleigh clubman isn't good for touring or is it suitable. Is 2 months more than enough time?
The Clubman is NOT a "touring road bike" - period. The Sojourn is. The Clubman uses a Shimano Tiagra 10spd (12-30t) rear cassette %26amp; a Shimano Tiagra 2pc 34/50t crankset. That's great for commuting or taking shorter trips with little to no weight on the bicycle. Also the 700x25c tires are too narrow to take any light off-road trails.
The Sojourn uses a massive SRAM PG-950 9spd (11-34) rear cassette %26amp; a Shimano FC-R453 Octalink 30/39/50t crankset. Much better suited to pull hills while the bike is loaded down. Also has Vittoria Randonneur Cross 700x35c tires with reflective sidewalls, that can easily take any "rails to trails" path. Also comes factory equipped with a rear rack %26amp; disc brakes. Overall - a much better choice for touring. My #1 source? I own a 2011 Sojourn.
Two months should be enough time IF you are in good cycling shape %26amp; don't overload the bicycle. Consider changing both the front crankset to a triple %26amp; the rear cassette to one more suitable for touring. Is 2 months more than enough time?
The Clubman is not suitable for loaded touring. Pulling a trailer, perhaps if you change the gearing. Going on a credit card tour, it may be OK if you change the gearing.
Gearing is not low enough. Wheels will not handle the weight of front and rear panniers full of gear.
As to your travel plans, 2 months will be just enough time depending on your physical conditioning.

Good Luck
