What food is included in the price of a cruise on Royal Caribbean?

I have been on four cruises, two Carnival and two Royal Caribbean. My last cruise was this April on a Carnival ship, and I must say I was less than pleased with the whole thing. However, when I was on the ship, something struck me as odd. In all my days of cruising, all food and drink on the ship (With the exception of liqour and soda) was free. When I went on this last cruise, only some food was free. You could get stale coffee, dry cheesecake, or nasty, tasteless desserts for free, or you could go to one of the cafe's and pay $4 for a really nice slice of cheesecake, or $3 for a gormet cup of coffee. Every other ship I have been on has had all of those things for free. A friend of mine pointed out that maybe the cruise lines are trying to save money. My question is, was it just that one, crappy ship (Triumph of the Seas), or have all Carnival ships decided to rip people off and Royal Caribbean still keep food free, or have all cruise lines decided to charge for good food? What food is included in the price of a cruise on Royal Caribbean?
I have been on more than a dozen cruises but never on CArnival, and I will never go on Carnival because I have heard that their food is crappy and the ships are roudy. But on all of the cruises I have been on all food and drink, except alcaholic and sodas is included. But many of these ships do have "SPECIALTY" restaurants, like steak, italian, that do have a cover charge/fee for dinner. I have been on several Royal CAribbean, Princess, and Norwegian ships and one Celebrity ship. Norwegian is the one that you have to watch out for with their 'FREESTYLE" cruising. Freestyle mean you don't have to pick a time for dinner. But what NCL does is try to strear you to the specialty restaurants where you ahve to pay and some of their restaurants have a $20. per person cover charge for dinner.
I don't know if there was a Johnny Rockets on any of the RC ships. But I do know that all of the food was free except in one or two specialty places, like sushi.
