Can I wear jeans, and a nice top to hand in a job application at a restaurant?

Places like Olive Garden, Applebees, Chili's, Chevy's, Pasta Pomodoro, Fridays etc... Also when I see the manager I was thinking of introducing myself and then saying "do you have a few minutes to speak with me?" ........would this be appropriate? or how should I do this.. thanks!Can I wear jeans, and a nice top to hand in a job application at a restaurant?
No, wear a pair of black pants you don't have to be over dressy just some class. good luck just say hi my mane is.. are you the manager or may I speak to one, then just say I'm here for a application I'm very interested in working here. etc.. good luck
Good advice from above. Black pants or khaki pants as that is what most waitress staff wear. Be upbeat, cheery and positive and kind to everyone you talk with even if they are busy or not in a good mood. Try to go in between the busy time like before the lunch crowd, after the lunch crowd and before the dinner crowd. Walk in and tell them you are very interested in working with them and what are the appropriate steps? Yes, before you leave ask politely if you can introduce yourself to the manager even if they say they are not hiring because the manager will remember you. Take with you a one page resume to hand directly to the manager. If you give it to the receptionist, it may not make it to the manager. I would, but only if it was a very dressy top and the jeans were very presentable. You don't want to be overdressed - save this for the interview.
