Hello. My husband and I are traveling, for the first time, to Las Vegas this June. We are staying in "old Vegas"/The Golden Nugget Hotel off the main strip, we will be traveling in to the "main" part of Vegas for a day or so, but wondered where we could get good food/drinks for reasonable prices? I know there are lots of buffets and eateries, but we're looking to save a little bit on meals so we'll have more $ for the slots (LOL). Also, if anyone has any "inside" information or "Vegas secrets" we would appreciate any input................Vegas is a tourist trap and we don't want to completely fall for it, we like to have options and save $ where we can. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ANY INFO!!!Inexpensive Restaurants, Good Food in Las Vegas?
Wild Wild West will no doubt fit into your budget.
OMG the BEST place to eat at the Golden Nugget is The Grotto! it is the most incredible food! We eat there every time we go which is about 4 times a year. And if you are looking to save money then buy the $1 margaritas on the strip at the cute little casino across from the Mirage.Inexpensive Restaurants, Good Food in Las Vegas?
Most of the large casinos have restaurants in them. And one way they lure in and keep gamblers there is by offering great food at pretty low prices.
All you have to do is walk the strip and look at the menus which will usually be posted outside the restaurant
Ellis Island has very good and cheap food.its off the main drag but just a couple of blocks. Go in ask about the specials.
You say you are taveling, so that means you will have a car. I live here, so will suggest this to you.
when you go up LV Blvd, the strip, continue past the Mandalay Bay, and you will see the airport on the left.
At the Sunset traffic light, turn left and continue down Sunset. ON the right side there is a PTs, and Village Pub on the right. Both are great for cheap food, lots of it and inexpensive drinks. And then keep going same direction, cross Eastern Avenue at the end of the airport fence again. Go through the light and drive 3/.4 mile on the left is Stadium Grill. Again great food, cheap drinks. The are all locally owned and I go to each often.
You seem to think that Vegas is some kind of nostalgic place. The Golden Nugget has been updated in the past few years. Once you are inside the hotel/casino it is ok. But pretty much everything else in "old vegas" as you describe it is just a run down smelly place. The strip casinos are more expensive but they are also much nicer and you feel much safer.
All the hotel/casinos have fast food/quick service restuarants. Some are off shots of their famous counterparts like the bar at Border Grill. There is no reason to go high end on restuarants if you don't want to.
