On their application it says,

"check only ONE position."

(server, busser, host, cook, utility etc.)



If you have skills in multiple areas, why should you be limited to just one position?Why does Applebees operate on such a narrow-minded basis?

You can fill out an application for each position that you're interested in.
I agree, the application is poorly drawn thereby not getting a more comprehensive view of the applicant as well as being confusing

You should choose a job that does not involve good judgment in classifying things.
you know, you're more likely to be considered or an interview if you know what position you want to apply for. a lot of places overlook applicants that list multiple positions. apply for one you want to start off in, and you can see about training in the others after you get the job and work it for a while.
I suppose there are far more applicants than jobs and they want to narrow down the process or reviewing them as much as possible.



Or maybe some jobs are unionized and others are not.
because they probably have enough applicants for each section, so they want you to check the box you are most confident about.
Not sure. There's a good chance I make a fool of myself drunkenly hitting on the waitresses at Applebees this weekend. I'll try to remember to ask.
