African Cichlid fish tank?

I have a 55 gallon African Cichlid fish tank that currently holds a Bumblebee cichlid as well as an Electric Blue. Both are only about 3 to 5 inches long. I'm wondering what kind of pleco would go good with these guys. I bought a Golden Nugget and it died the very next day. Any ideas?African Cichlid fish tank?
Almost any kind should be fine. I haven't seen Mbuna bother Pleco's in the past even though they'd tend to dwell in the same area. Why yours died could be many possiblities, but I doubt it's from stress of being with Africans. Clown Plecos, and Bristlenose's would be nice since they don't get extremely large.

Pleco's are not natural enemies or a food source for Africans, and shouldn't be in any danger of aggression unless the tank is too small which in your case it isn't. When we consider that pleco's are not true algae eaters but an armored catfish, I tend to prefer a smaller sized pleco since larger ones really output large amounts of waste. If you want a larger type, a sailfin should suit your needs on that, but I wouldn't opt for that personally.
How about a royal pleco?

Try a Spotted Raphael, check your ammonia first because if you have any it lays near the bottom and your bottom feeders will be the first to die.
